Old-time-oven-peach-cobbler
Ingredients
- a quarter cup butter
- half cup white sugar
- one cup all-purpose flour
- a quarter tsp salt
- two teaspoons of yeast
- half cup of milk
- two cups fresh peaches, pitted and sliced
- a quarter cup white sugar
- a quarter teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1½ cups water
Methods:
Preheat oven three hundred seventy five degrees F Lightly butter a 9 x 9 inch glass pan.
In a large bowl, cream the butter and half c sugar.
In separate bowl, blending flour, salt & baking powder. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
Spread the mixture evenly in a baking dish.
If using canned peaches, drain them thoroughly, reserving the juice. Placing fruit on dough.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and a quarter cup sugar. Pour fruit juice or water over it.
Baking at three hundred seventy five degrees F (one hundred ninety degrees C) for f0rty five to fifty five min. During cooking, fruit and juice go to the bottom & dough rises.
